That said, those who ultimately reject God will, I believe, receive a place in hell which *fairly* and justly reflects their collaboration in sin, whilst on earth - for some, it won't be so bad...but for someone like Hitler? Or Stalin? Or Pol Pot? Jesus even described different parts of hell: the bottomless-pit, the outer-darkness.

But if human-beings themselves continue to turn their backs on God, and the offer of eternal life in His Son, Jesus then sooner-or-later does it therefore, equate that they are starting to follow the devil by-default, whether they're necessarily aware of it, or not? And if so, will they follow the devil all the way, to where his infernal majesty is destined to be?

John, that will be me then.  The school governor.  The guy in the Union office who spends his time helping members.  The man who lives what he believes to be a good life.

I will spend the rest of eternity in hell, according to your religion.  I don't think there is anything else to be said.

I have to agree here. I have not turned my back on God because I do not believe God exists. Neither by default do I believe in any Devil or Heaven or Hell. I think I am a decent person I live my life to a set of my own moral standards but because I have no faith (and it is not a choice, I can'y make myself believe there is a God because that would be a lie and therefore a sin according to religon) I am not a good person. I have always found that hard to fathom.

The pilot Learning Surgery on Friday 20 August was excellent with 25 people through the door to find out about the learning opportunities that ULRs can offer them. It was a little concerning maybe that the 'Redundancy Handbbok' went like hotcakes but that seems to be a sign of the times unfortunately.

We have already started receiving Learning Surveys back from attendees which will hopefullt aide us in providing the kind of learning that people want.

Thanks to all those that attended.

I tend to agree Angflauglir. I am actually training on a course for the first time as a Lay Tutor in November (it is one of the few that has not been pulled) and I will be havinga close look at the material (as long as I don't receive it the night before which is, alas, entirely possible) to ensure that it is actually worth attending.

I have been on some PCS courses which are, as you put it, short on practicalities and don't really offer much in the wa of a way forward.

We shall see.

I did tackling the far right as an online course (sorry sonic, taking jobs away from you!).  Not a bad course, but a little short on the actual practicalities - but that seems to be a common problem with PCS courses, unfortunately.

John is that an expression of interest or cynicism?

I have penned a short piece for No Limits asking for expressions of interest about holding self defence classes here in Alexander House. Look out for it and drop me a line if you are  interested.

Sonic Truth

I think an article in No Limits to gauge interest would be a good idea.  I can contact my local Karate school (I am a yellow belt) but it might not be what people want?

I have been approached by a member about the possibility of putting on self defence classes. There have been a number of incidents in the Borough recently one which unfortunately led to the murder of a man at Priory Park.

Obviously personal safety is of paramount importance and I want to gauge what kind of interest their might be before doing any further research into how we might put this on, and how much it might cost etc.

I aim to put something in the next issue of e-Luminations to canvass support but would be grateful if reps could also see if members are interested too.

Thanks.
